Udyam Registration
The free, online registration process for MSMEs on the Udyam portal (udyamregistration.gov.in), introduced in 2020.
Udyam registration replaced the older Udyog Aadhaar and EM-II filings. It is one-time, paperless, and based on Aadhaar and PAN. The registration certificate carries a unique Udyam Registration Number (URN) and a QR code. There is no fee or renewal; the certificate is valid for the lifetime of the business. Enterprises must update turnover and investment details annually through the portal.
